Nemrut Dagi Turkey - National Park

Nemrut Dagi (Mount Nemrut) is one of the most astounding sites in Turkey. With colossal statues on a mountain of 2150m high, is suited the temple and tomb of King Antiochus. During 1881 an Ottoman geologist discovered these 10 metre stone heads.

Nemrut Dagı has been a significant attraction, especially at sunrise and sunset when tourists are visiting to see the stones. Is one of the most important National Parks in Turkey. Visitors can view art from the Commagene civilisation, the Eskikale (Old Castle), Yenikale (New Castle), Karakus Hill and Cendere Bridge. The sight seen is available from mid-April to mid-October because of the heavy snow during winter.
The National Park is located between Kahta (9km) and Adiyaman (43km). There are hotels and restaurants available near the national park, Karadut and Kahta.
